Brain Zaps and Serotonin Syndrome

Does anyone have any practical information on brain zaps and serotonin syndrome, or can they point me to any reliable information on it? I'm looking for a way to reduce or alleviate the symptom. They hurt so much and can be debilitating.

Thanks so much.

" That's it exactly. They're supposed to go away on their own, but the last time I tried to get completely off of the smack, I like to have died from the pain. "

I dont have these often. If you have seritonin syndrom you most likely need hospitalization and for the meds to be stopped. At least that was what was explained to me by my doctor. Seritonin syndrom cause:

" I have no idea what you all are talking about... I don't take medication and I get zaps in my head. Like shocks... I never knew what it was "

" You're describing them right. Like touching five 9-volt batteries to your tongue at once, holding them there for two seconds, then doing it again every single time you move your head.

I'm having withdrawals, that's my deal. I've studied a lot about them in my many attempts to get myself off my latest substance of choice, and I can't find anyone who can tell me what I can take--like an anti brain zap pill or detox med--at all.

They're also called brain shivers.

Omega-3 is supposed to help, but it doesn't. "

" you are really not supposed to quit most of these drugs without slowly winding off them...cold turkey can really do some damage.

the shocks in my head, fingers, legs are quite disturbing. mostly happen if i miss a dose, or the couple of times that i stopped taking meds because i was "cured" - little did i know that that is just about the worst thing that you can do! "

" I get these zaps when I miss my zoloft for more than a day or two. I have talked to my dr. and he says the only way to stop them is to ween off the med. It will take several weeks to wean if you don't want any zapping. "

" I know when they were weening me off of some of my meds I would get these feelings as if someone grabbed the nerves of the back of my eyeballs and jerked real hard. They freaking hurt. I guess brain zaps is a good word for it. "
