What is One Sentimental Thing that you have

and why.
Mine would have to be my baby bunny. It's a stuffed animal with a hard plastic face that I had when I was 2 or 3 years old. It only has one ear and is totally filthy. It also has a whole in it's mouth where I put in order to feed it. When my parents passed away, my husband and BIL were cleaning out their basement and I kept on saying to my husband, "Don't forget my baby bunny. He had no idea what I was talking about but found what he thought it would be and he was right. It's sentimental because it is a toy that I loved when I was that little and it's the only toy I have left. It is sitting on a shelf in our bedroom being as filthy as it is and missing one ear. May be weird to some but cherished by me. Ashes from my Dad's cremation in a heart locket necklace that says "I Love You"

big surprise from me...it's a book, a collection of poems. my older sister bought it for me in middle school when i was having problems with some other kids and i needed to re-learn to love myself and be proud of myself.
the illustrations were beautiful (i think that's when i fell in love with leo and diane dillon's artwork) and on the last page she wrote "I think that just about says it all. Love a lot of things and love you too. I do." i think it's probably the most precious gift i've ever received. and now that it's been reprinted i give it out to other girls and women to remind them that they're beautiful and worthy and should love "lots of things" including and especially themselves. by the way, the bit of the poem my sister was referring to reads: I love I love a lot of things A whole lot of things and honey, I love ME, too. I agree, that just about says it all :)

I have a collection of journals that my Dad wrote especially for me. Daddy was very passionate about experiencing history in the making. I didn't know what he was doing at the time . . . I was just a kid happy to spend time with my Daddy.
When I completed Graduate School, my Daddy gave me a beautiful book that contain all of the journals he had written over the years for me. I cherished all of the entries, but I think my Dad was the proudest of the ones that describe our trips to see and hear our sitting Presidents speak. I remembered a couple of the trips but not in detail. I was so young at the time that I didn't remember seeing President Nixon until I read the journal entry. I also saw Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton with my Daddy. For every one there was a detailed account of the day~~everything from what the weather was like, the clothes I wore, where we ate lunch or dinner, what each President had spoken about, and an account of the conversations we had during every trip~~along with my Daddy's special commentary about each President and what was going on in our country at that particular time. What surprised me the most was the amount of time my Daddy waited along the rope lines when I was very young and with me often in his arms or on his shoulders just for the chance to shake a President's hand. I do remember waiting a long time to see President Reagan, but I thought that was the first time. Especially since my Daddy passed in 2006 his words to me have become my most cherished possession.
