How many of you often have trouble keeping your home clean, like the shower and vanity, the dishes, the laundry... and your yard too, if you have one to maintain? Many of us do, right.
Well, I am wondering then, how many of us manage to ever get anything "extra" done at home? ...things like cleaning the windows and screens...sweeping and straightening our garage...cleaning out and reorganizing shelves, drawers, cupboards, file cabinets, etc? I am doing well simply being able to brush my teeth and shower, eat, and take care of my cats most days... ***SIGH*** Posted on 11/06/09, 06:11 pm |

Have you seen the show Clean House? I'm one of those. I have gotten much better, picked one section on went thru it. Now my closet and garage are the only things I need to organize. Look at my goals to do my pantry, it took me i think 280 days or something like that. Called PROCRASTINATION. (probably spelled wrong).
Windows, pulling weeds etc....I hire it done!

I have 4 things I always do. My dishes, my floors, vaccumming (sp) and my basement which is always immaculate (I met glass to make beads and with a torch it has to be really clean). In the summer my yard is always done. but other than that, I dont care except for when I get manic. Once when I was manic I chopped down all the bushes at 4 am. Neighbors didnt like that. I also sometimes cut my grass twice. I dont do my laundry until I have no more clothes to wear. Oh, I love those manic times.

First, I would love to wash my windows and screens!!... not a big deal, right................. in theory, bcs they are the kind you unlatch and tip in, so you can clean them all from the inside.................... however (and you knew this way coming!)... I had custom blinds made and installed a few years ago, and now, I would have to take each blind down to access the latches to tip the windows in to clean.................. someday!
But, and I am quite proud of myself (esp as I have been feeling rotten for so long)... today I put up some clear Christmas lights on the outside railing of my house, at the front door! I am NOT making this up either... bcs, as I live in the Midwest and bcs of my often profound depression, I struck while the iron was hot bcs around Thanksgiving I am thinking it will be too cold/ snowy, : ( or... I may be very depressed again (not to be negative, but just realistic). Me!!!!! I did it, something wonderful... and yes, the lights are turned on and will remain on at least until after New Year's Day.

You're one ahead of me, it's hard to shower most days. It takes pretty much all I've got to get up, eat, do a basic pickup and get to appointments. The rest is gravy.

I'm so with you on that last thing you said, LIL. We are all that way in this family, but are slowly gaining some momentum.
