My husband says I can't blame all my weight
gain on my meds and most of it is my fault.
He says I am obese because I am fat and lazy
and has nothing to do with weight gain from
zyorexa and Trileptal. How can I get him
to understand more? I am at a loss here
I guess the saying really is true that you
can lead a horse to water but you can't
make him drink.

" I put on tons after Seroquel to the point where my doctor was shocked at the change in me, and sadly it comes on so fast and ofc changes you appetite it makes it really really hard to lose it.

Have your husband read our responces? "

" I showed him a link to an article about weight gainer psychiatric meds but he still won't believe me. He says it's all my fault. He's blaming my weight gain all on me.....as if I wanted to gain all of this weight. He said if I was more active that loosing weight would be easy. He is very stupid and doesn't understand where I am coming
from at all. "

" Then tell him to shut up.
He's not living your life.

" Meds CAN and WILL cause MASSIVE weight gain...without your changing diet or excercise programs. It is printed on many patient pamplets,as a side effect.

I gained 70 Lbs in less than 3 months on Lithium..my diet never changed, and I actually was excersicing more...tell your husband to let up on you!

Geesh,if he has to..have him talk with your Pdoc to confirm the fat facts about bipolar meds. "

" No offense, but your husband doesn't know what he is talking about. He needs to get educated and let up on you. I agree that taking him to see your pdoc is a good idea. Good luck to you. I know how frustrating the med weight gain can be. I gained 50lbs on some meds. I was able to lose it on Abilify. "
