I won't be around this morning to read the responses. I'll have to check when I get home from work so thanks in advance to those who answer. My pdoc has me taking my zoloft at night because I forget morning meds. However, I'm going to start taking my Geodon in the morning to help me be calm during the day. I could take the zoloft at the same time. I'm going to take it to work because I don't eat breakfast until I get there and it needs to be taken with food. I could do the same with the zoloft. Ok, now my question. Typically, should zoloft be taken in the morning or at night? I'm wondering when it would do the most good.....

" I used to run like a chicken with no head when I was on Zoloft..
I would suggest the AM.
So you can burn off the energy it will give you.
Good Luck with this med .afew years of being on it I found that it was sending me into a mania that was unbearable.
Not the good mania ...Good Luck "

" I take it in the morning,,,but I only have a very low dose 75 mg.... I go way over the top at 200 -- actually that's how they got me out of the last depression... 200 for 2 days, waited 3 days then another day of 200.. Amazing... I went from suicidal to functional...Of course, it was done inpatient so I could be monitored.

I take my small dose in the morning and I wish it gave me a little more umph...it's just enough to ward off the depression but, not enough to make me a happy camper! "

" Many years ago, when I was taking Zoloft, I saw that it had a "May Cause Drowsiness" warning sticker on the label. My pdoc gave me no directions for taking it other than once a day. Needless to say I started taking it at night. Bad move. I couldn't sleep at all. So after two days of no sleep, I was like the walking dead. My suggestion would be in the morning. "

" Funny, zoloft has always put me in the "zoloft zone" so I took it at night. I never got the "uppities" from it good or bad. But after about 3 months of slow-dose increases, I leveled out at 100 mg and it warded off my depression. I still took it at night out of habit, but didn't need to anymore. I now take lexapro, after 15 yrs zoloft quit working. "

" Thanks everyone. It looks like the votes are split. I guess I'll try it out and see how it works. I became very tired this afternoon though. I don't know if it was the Geodon or just regular afternoon low blood sugar. It didn't seem to have that effect on me over the weekend. I'll wait a while until I tamper with the Zoloft I think. "
