Hi, I've had to take this for a few days.
I notice in the notes with the pills it says "Do not take Zopiclone unless your doctor advises if you have a history of...psychiatric problems, depression or anxiety (as thoughts of suicide might occur)" Has anyone experienced mood shifts as a result of taking this? I thought a fair number here do. Are their safer sleep meds available? From wikipedia "Zopiclone, sold as Imovane in Canada, and Zimovane in the UK, is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent used in the treatment of insomnia. I haven't slept more than 3 hours in thelast week.....no matter what the warnings were,I'm about ready for anything.

they say that with loads of meds. I've taken imovane & thought I got a weird hangover type thing from it so went back to another sleeper I prefer.

I've shifted to a position of relative risk, ie the risk of a possible side effect, e.g suicidal thoughts vs the risk of becoming incoherent / mood problems during face to face businss meetings.
However I did experience some problems and as Lou2 says there are always a list of possible side effects with everything ..but this does seem fairly specific. Do other sleep meds also have warnings about suicidal thoughts?

& wellbutrin, which lots of beepers here seem to take..is currently getting masses of press attention about allegedly causing suicides.

Strangly,when I read my patient pamplets on all my BP meds..many of them warn of mood changes and thoughts of suicide...the very meds that are supposed to help us overcome those thoughts..weird?

they have to say that to cover selves against future lawsuits brought by families...but yeah, weird. Is it coincidence the number of people (ok, perhaps already in crisis) put on psych meds or have meds changed who then suicide?
