Ok, so my grandparents are being totally unreasonable and refuse to let any of my kids spend the night at thier house aside from my middle aged son. I've long suspected the reason is because they are going behind my back and letting his bio father see him against court orders (he's an abuser). My grandparents called me up a few months ago and cursed me out because I put my foot down and said if the other kids can't have a turn, then my other child cannot spend the night either.
Then my grandparents retaliated by calling CPS on me and telling them we put bruises all over my son's body. We never did that! cPS INvestigation cleared me, and my mother came over to my house and told me she was on my side and thinks it's terrible what my grandparents are doing to me and that she was very worried about me. She took my kids to see a movie last weekend (she almost NEVER visits or takes my kids out). She said she wanted to pick up my kids and take them to see fireworks and spend the night to o tochurch the next day. Well, my cousin was talking to my hubby today, and asked if he was going to the cookout. My hubby was like, "What cookout"... It turns out my mother is having a big fourth of july cookout and tried not to let me find out. Now I don't know what to think. I feel like she tricked me so she could get my kids and let my grandparents take my son overnight behind my back. It seems to me that she has really chosen thier side, and is just pretending to love me and be on my side because she doesn't want to not be able to see my kids. My ex has ruined my life. 9 years ago today I married him and it was the worst mistake of my life. I don't know what I was thinking. I was such an idiot and now he has manipulated my entire family against me. I wouldn't be surprised if HE was invited to the cookout!!! They don't care or don't believe he ever abused me and my son. Ever thought about going over there unanounced and seeing if he took his son? Maybe getting to the bottom of it? Catching them in their lies...if that's what they are doing? I mean if they are going to be sneaky, then be a sneak too.

awww im soo sorry, i never ever know what to say in these situations.
im here if you want to talk, need to vent or whatever. i sure hope things get better quickly for you. it sucks to do nothing but cry your eyes out :(

Yes, there are a lot of tears to be cried over what family does to us. I don't know a good solution for you. What works for me is to cut off contact with family that does me dirty but that's unfair to the kids. Or is it?
We don't get to decide what other people do or say but we do control how we react. So dry those tears, I'm sure they're not the first and they won't be the last.

I HAVE worked hard. I made excellent grades, went to college, made money playing my guitar, and now I have certifications in several web programming languages and have launched the demo of my first web based game. STILL they are not proud of me. STILL they don't see anything but that Im a whore because I divorced the man abusing me.

Oh, and as for showing up unannounced to catch them... it won't work unless I'm extrememly lucky.. they meet at places like chuckie cheese and restaurants because ex likes to buy people off by taking them out to eat.

I personally would take a friend w me as a selient witness - plus they may be less likely to act out in ft of witness. Dam right I would attend the party to check on My children. am glad your catching on to what your family has and is doing. Sounds like the best thing that you can do for your own family is to move out of state and/or at least 4 hrs 1 way away from your family. If you half to live near family go live near your current husband family. Sorry but my children come befor adults in my family as with my own mental well being. I will not tolerate nor put up w anyone includeing Grandparents abuseing me and my children. Look at what they have already done to your children. They taught 1 to dismiss woman and to lie to you by keeping his promise to them in not telling you of his visits w his dad. I dont need and wont have family in my daily life and will the kids can use web cam to visit w family during christ mas. If Grandma doesnt have pc - she can get 1 at wal mart and take free pc classes at senior center. Pisst I would park dwn the road so no one at party can tip anyone off at the party of my arrival. yep I would want to walk upon them with out them seeing me comeing. watch your p's & q's since you'll be on someone elses property and they can say that you did something that you didnt so do take a witness and go to party, enjoy and take your children home - away from disfunk abusers who think alike.
