" I got SSDI whan I was 55, for Bipolar and Fibromyalgia. Before that I was an executive secretary/administrative secretary/office manager/administrative assistant and I hated every minute of all of those jobs! I then worked part time as a museum tour guide and also as a writer of a resource directory for "disenfranchised" people (including us). I loved being a tour guide and I loved doing my directory for the Dept of Health here in NM. I NOW have become a writer, full time and I work for myself and for animal rights and saving wildlife. No pay as yet, but I absolutely LOVE doing this. It is what I was meant to do all of these years!!! I am now 68 and I feel I have found myself and my calling. "

" Ya, I work. . .been working since I was 12 yo. Working harder now than I ever have it seems. For three months I worked 40 hrs at my main job and 20 hrs a week at wallyworld. I found working there depressing, all the filth. Everybody trying to get something for nothing. I guess I'm getting older now, was shocked when young girls started opening and holding the door to stores for me. I come from a time when a man did that for a lady out of respect. I know my Wifey would stand there till she dropped dead affore she'd open a door, waiting on me to open if for her. She hasn't had to wait long in our 40 years of marital bliss. I quit the pt job, now Wifey's upset she has to work for us to make the bills. You see, I've sorta spoilt her all her life, but now I can't do it alone. About all they'll let me do anymore is security guard work, and I walk rounds more than 4 hours every day. Wifey's a goin through menopause, Jesus help me. Don't even know this woman anymore. All she does is argue and disagree with everything I say. Just been this way lately. I'ma looking for another part time weekend security guard job. Rather than upset her I'd rather bring in more to pay down debts if I can. Better than hearing complaints bout how I do almost everything I do wrong. Do the dishes wrong, do the laundry wrong, cook and bake things wrong, and don't clean house right. She doesn't know she's a doin it. I just hope it passes quickly. I want a more pleasant next 40 years.
Cheers,
otrpu "

" Curious and only a question, why the post? Is there something you are trying to figure out?
To your post--Yes, I work and have held the same job for over 10 years. Have moved up in the co., 3 times and am currently an Associate Supply Chain Specialist. I basically plan/schedule production. Keep inv. levels current and correct.
Very stressful and demanding. Has been extremely difficult. Need to find another job. "

" Missbellag, wouldnt extry income be benifitual in retirment plan and to treat yourself & your honey on cruises and to cover days that your honey is really sick and shouldnt go into work. just a though. am glad I worked and hid money because it came in handy during and after my divorce. Plus I didnt want to pick out and wrap a gift for him that he actually bought for his self.

I had to reside that I cant return to work force. shoot I had to even learn that I cant even get thur an interview w/o passing out or makeing water puddles. So I too am house bound but I have a full life.
I just dont know how I did what all I do when I use to work.

Otrpu, pisst, I knew I was being smart mouth and nasty sassay when I went thur menopause.
I also knew to clam the heat waves and to mellow out I had to get on medication to to rebalance my hormones. I had to use - dam whats the name of hormone that men userly have plently of - anywho - the cream worked for me and I knew to keep a box fan beside my bed and my recliner w a lap blanket. I also temporary went on mood stablizer.
with insurance it was the best $12.00 for mood stablizer that according to my formor husband that he ever spent, lol.

Just incase you didnt know. men also go thur male menopause --- yep hormone inbalance - now you to can tell by looking at man protruding gut, that he has hormon enbalance.
the bigger the gut - the less the sun is able to rise and the worst the hormons are embalanced- will adventually the sun wont rise w or w/o blue pill - again its due to age and w age comes hormone enblance.
yep you guys can get throns- medicated cream to fix both problems.

How I mise working but I have worked out a stuctured daily life.
Being that I have apllied for SSDI and I have atty on that case. I have been informed that I am not allowed to work and if I am granted SSDI and return to work force for even mere 4 to 6 hrs 1 to 2 days per wk I will loss my SSDI benifits and state medical card.
According To SC in US I can only obtain a state medical after I recieve 2nd check from SSDI being that am not 65 yrs old yet.
I know of a teacher in NC in US who continues to work and she was granted SSDI, wtfreak w SC standards - policys!!!

I managed to wash my dishies and do a load of laundry and weed my veg garden and checked in on my elderly neighbour, doesnt that count as work ? :0 "

" I work very hard at my house. I make no money and I receive no money. My job is to raise my sons in a functional home with love and support.
If I can succeed at this, I will have stopped the cycle.
Stopping the dysfuctional cycle in my family will be payment in full.
I also do artwork. I'm going to attempt to sell some of it for my own self worth.
