" With each new pdoc I've had the first session is usually them asking me questions. So when I have a new one, I just go in and wait for them to start.

Good Luck,

" Asking questions is good but I dont know which to ask. Maybe How do I get a hold of you when I am thinking of killing myself or looking to buy a $40,000 car?

I type up a single page history of my life with things that I tthink are important. Perfectionist mother, 4 hospital stays, 6 best friends, suicide attempts, good marriage, death of husband etc etc, He/she can read thru it in 3 minutes and cover A LOT OF GROUND like 5 sessions worth!!!!!! "

" yeah, just ask some questions & get a feel for whether you like the way they communicate with you & iff you're feeling comfy with them, have chemistry & so on. ha. Maybe think about what qualities are important to you in the person treating you? "

" Yes, give them a little history, tell them how you are feeling on your meds right now, and ask how to get in touch with them in a crisis. "

" Don't worry about it too much, it should be ok - just answer their questions. That is exactly what I do. Nothing really to it. I am so glad you got in soo soon! "
