Say something nice about America....

In my time I have seen this country go from good to bad to good and now we are down again, but I see the rise of those who would save themselves and our great country. America is truly the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Even if you are not from this country, maybe you can recount that which you do like about our country.

As a Texan we celebrated our independence on March 2, and we now also celebrate with the rest of our country.

" I thought of something! This isn't unique to America, but is certainly not global:

Dissent. As an American, I can, *for the most part* be as "Anti-American" as I want to be. I do not have to wave my flag and put-on fake patriotism if I'm not feeling it. I can teach my students about the wrongs as well as the rights that this country has engaged in. I can set up my own rag, blog, podcast, whatever, lambasting the government and it's policies. I can protest. I can start or join an organization that is trying to change things. And, I can do all of this in order to make it a better place- AND, all of these things are not only protected by our constitution, but encouraged by it. "

" I love America and the fact that I can live here free to be who I am without restriction to express myself or my views. I cannot think of any other place I would want to live.

I love the diversity of our country and the opportunities afforded to not only us, as americans, but all those who meander this way looking for the same freedoms. It seems for all those who hate us so much or disagree with our principals, we certainly have our share of immigrants fighting to get into our country. We stand up for who we are and the principals of our freedoms and we take no shit from anyone.

We are not perfect or infalable as we are human trying to work out all our societal differences with great ability to mend those faults. America is based in finding the best solution, NOT the best exclusion!!!!!

Our nation has an enormous capacity to absorb fault as much as those who make up this great nation of ours have the capacity to generate such fault. Whether we fail financially, legally, medically, educationally, or even in personal relationships, America is the one nation that lives to forgive. As long as we possess a heartbeat, we can still strive for the ‘American Dream’ despite our past failures. No matter from whence we came, we can all strive for the same plateau. I don’t know what, exactly, that I love most about America. I just love her, period, and I know that no matter what I need or desire, if I work toward it aspiring to do my best and give it my best effort, I will achieve it.

I think sometimes, no most time, we take for grantid what we do have here in America. If we dont get what we want when we want it, it isnt good enough and it is someone else's fault. Honestly, no matter what area of politice or societal issues we look at, we far exceed that of any other country. If we are not happy here, then we have the "freedom" to leave and move elsewhere, nothing stops us. "
