ect is shock therapy u are induced into a mini seizure by electrodes placed on you it is supoosed to help with depression and cbt is cognitive behavioral therapy it involves recognizing destructive behavior and helps change the behavior

One thing you might be able to try is what you do when you have to find a business solution to your life. I would consider using the NAMI hotline and engage them for support. Plus, they may have many ideas that I cannot think of right now.
Now, what I would do is see if you can find a therapist not willing to take his crap about being under/not medicated. After you have done this then I would consider getting this therapist to consider what it means to have good treatment for the child. If he cannot reach him, hit him with medication until he is a national disaster of meds (on so many meds that you wonder how he got out of bed. If you can do this then I think that you can begin treatment.
However, I may be wrong about all this, and this is something NAMI can help tell you. But most importantly, these are a fine group of folks that are willing to help support you. You will know you aren't alone. You will find solace in the family to friends group and work to help you and your child to get better.

Poly-Comorbid Mental Case

One thing nobody seems to mention is that kids are really goofy at that age. They are slowly becoming adults and hormones are changing. He is also trying to gain his own independence and find his place in the world. It's enough to make any kid goofy and I'm sure that having his medical conditions just make it work. My brother went through the same thing and turned out fine. Of course, make sure you keep the doctors updated and keep an eye on him. It will take some time, understand and discipline but keep trying.

Just my 2 cents, I'd find another pdoc. I would also contact nami, just google "nami" and u will find out how to get in touch with them. They have family support meetings, that are free and may help u to just talk to others who are going through the same thing as u and may be able to make suggestions.
This is a most difficult situation, I understand, u can't force him to take meds. I pray another pdoc can help ur son, also seeing a therapist may help u to deal with this.

Just wanted to vent my opinion on ECT - shock therapy, I have had ect for depression, and the only thing it did for me was give me memory loss, which only made me angry. I would not force ect on anyone. I don't know why matrix suggested this, it doesn't really sound like ur dealing with depression, but more schizoaffective disorder, which to my knowledge is not treated with ect. Just my 2 cents for whatever its worth, matrix please do not take this the wrong way, only my personal opinion.

when i was younger i used to see this old woman she was evil she told me to hurt my mum i beat up my older sister on so many occasions. i attacked my bf and my bfs mum all cause she told me too. my mum put me in hospital. she said its the worst thing she has ever had to do.. but it was for the best. at least then the docs could see your son 24/7 rather than just from your point of view.. hmm not sure if im making sense and i hope i did not offend.

my mum used to have time out for herself. she needed it otherwise she would crack. at one point she had me with her 24/7 at 15 she made me sleep next to her so i would not harm my sister or myself. she sent me to live with my dad at some point, and spent time with her boyfriend. you need a massive support group, you need time out for yourself otherwise you will crack. do not feel bad for doing this! xxx

thanks for everyone support and like i put in here he been shopital every few yrs and maybe it time again. alot of thes hospital just dont take enough time for these kids either they out less then a week b/c of insurance and they over filled.

I live in ohio and mental health is being the last in in a few groups in yahoo on autism and bipolar and they all talk about how our good old govenero slashing everythng and taking away mental health care for our kids

there was a new article on onn.com that talks about he shut down 2 of the mental hospitals in ohio not sure which ones, but as long as i know we had 2 more back in 4 yrs ago and loger and it sad they cutting this for people our kids.

he want to bring in gambling casino or something like that...
