I start an assignment and rarely finish or it take me forever to complete. I try over and over again. It has affected my life tremendously. It takes a great amount of effort to complete anything. I would think about the task but not in mood to complete. I start then stop. I just repeat this. For example, I love to read but now it hard for me to complete a book. I do other things and avoid what I should be doing. These were one of my best characteristics. I pray to have this back but I just cry about it. i was very active before.

Could this a symptoms of bipolar? I am diagnosed with bipolar.

" I am having that problem right now, but it doesn't normally bother me. I think it CAN be a symptom of bipolar, but I think it's pretty common for lots of people, even if they don't have BP. I guess it depends on what the thing is.

For example, my husband doesn't have BP, but he procrastinates to such a degree that he has hurt his occupational prospects. I have BP, and also procrastinate, but only on the things I hate to do (like work). So I don't think it's only a symptom.

I'm sorry I don't know how to stop it. I wish I knew how! "

" Do you think there is any particular reason you might be like this now? (ie: depression, sickness, boredom, hate the stuff you have to do, better things to do, etc)? "

" Its a symptom of bipolar and I dont know what to do about it except keep trying to complete the project. When you do you gat a satistfaction that motivates ya to complete another. Sometimes doing the things we love can be work. I try to think about the millions of people who get up to go to work every day and thats helps to motivate me. "

" well,I think that depression can definitely be the cause of your problem. You might consider getting a CBT workbook from your local bookstore and going through it. It's no substitute for therapy, and no substitute for going to a pdoc to get your meds adjusted, but it might be better than nothing for you until you can see somebody. "

I don't have health insurance.

Then you should find out about the mental health services in your county.

Try not to let it make you feel like you are a failure. Thats not the case. It will get better. "
