I've been taking haldol for about six months and it's working great for me. The only side effects I had was being sleepy a lot (which has now worn off) and shakiness. I take cogentin to help with that. Good luck if you decide to try it. It was my last resort drug and it turned out to be my miracle drug.

I've used haldol. It's done a good job for me but the side effects are hard for some people to take. I've used worse meds. Go to a drug site or get a drug book and check out all the anti-psychotics and their side effects and I'm sure you can pick something that will suit you best since they're all effective for some
people, not all, just like most other meds.

Used Haldol for years and loved it. Anything I couldn't concentrate just up the haldol. I get periods where there is just screaming in my head. I say it is the little girl screaming out of pain- but it makes me very agitated, anxious and unable to do anything. The haldol has always worked for me I had no side effects. My pdoc was concerned about a side effect called tardive dyskenisia (look up the med and it will tell you about this). There is a chance that if you get this side effect it won't go away. My pdoc was concerned that since I'd been on the med so long I'd get this so she moved me to another med- though I still have the haldol and would use it in a minute if needed.Good luck.

Make sure that they give you plenty of Procyclidine because you may get Extra Pyramidal Effects.These are killer seizures...way more than the tremors and stuff.
They may be rarer but nonetheless..if they happen... they fuck people up for a long time.
Ask about them.As long as they remember the ratios of Haldol/Procyclidine it should be ok.
