i take 250 but i am spossed to take a other 250 in a couple days it takes a 3 days to a week to start makein u feel better

I had to start with Depakote "sprinkles"which are little capsules that you can break and sprinkle on food. They're made for pediatric I think. I had to work up to my dose of 2500mg per day very, very, slowly... I'd say almost over the course of a year. Keep in mind, though, that ANY new med I take for ANYTHING even antibiotics makes me really sick to my stomach.

Depakote is great and I like it a lot. Right now I am having some bad depression, but before this, I was "level" for almost 3 years on a course of 2500mg Depakote and 300mg Wellbutrin daily.

2500 or 250?

I took 300 mgs of wellbutrin for 8 years but they just cut that to 150. I don't understand why.

I take 500 mg a day. I used to be on 1,000 mg of Depakote but it started messing with my liver so my pdoc had to lower the dose.

Depakote made my hair come out in chunks. It grew back when I stopped taking it. I don't remember what dose I was on since it was post ECT days.

my husband is a doctor. He looked up the depakote and said the incidence of hair loss is only in about 6-7 percent of people taking the drug.
If mine starts to come out I am going to stop taking it immediately.
My question is, is it ever really going to help?? How long will it take? I don't think it is doing a thing
