It is for ADHD, I tried it ONCE never again, I had a very horrible experience and will not touch it again!!!

my daughter, 21, is BP, and takes adderall in addition to lithium and lamictal. The adderall really helped kick her out of a deep depression, the kind where she couldn't even imagine getting out of bed. It helps her stay focused, which is helpful to stay on track if your mind is starting to race.
It's not for everyone though, so, if you feel overly hyped up or heart racing, etc., tell your doctor right away.

My husband was 1st DX as ADD and he was on adderall for 3 yrs. he quit it on his own during his Manic episode last jan. It helped him alot with concetration. I also take it but for help in sleeping. I need the extra energy during the day to wear me out so i can sleep without 3 tons of sleeping pills. Plus I do get more done in the house!! One thing i do since I take it for energy is take it 3-4 days a week so I dont get hooked on it.

I HAVE HAD ADHD FOR ALL MY LIFE. I'VE TRYED THEM ALL. AND YES THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS I AM ON IT. I CURRENTLY HAVE 8 MAJOR DISEASES. 2 TERMINAL. I WAKE UP I THE MORN. AND I AM SO DEPRESSED UNTIL I TAKE MY MEDS. ( I AM ON RITALIN) THIS IS THE BEST ONE 4 ME CUS. U CAN USE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMBOS AND HAS FEWER SIDE AFFECTS.. SO YES IT IS PERSCRIBED FOR DEPRESSION. SORRY 4 THE SPELLING I AM GOING BLIND. I HAVE M.S. ALSO BLINDNESS IS ONE OF THE MAIN SYMTOMS. GOOD LUCK ALSO ALOT OF DOCS SAY DIFFERENT. I KNOW SEVERAL ON IT 4 THE SAME THING.. HOPE I WAS SOME HELP. I tried Adderal but didn't like it. I take Vyvance and it works really well for me. It keeps me focused, and best of all it gives me energy. I can't imagine not having it on those days when bipolar has you dog tired and dragging as it does. It makes me able to function.

It helps me to function and concentrate without being slow and foggy from the rest of my meds.

I was on it for a while. It did help with my depression and concentration, the lack of motivation and things like that. But it had a tendency to make my hypo and manic. So, I had to stop taking it.

I take it and need/love it. I have ADD & narcolepsy. I can't focus or stay awake long without it. It calms me down in a weird way.
