Shaky legs

Okay so it's been a couple weeks now since I've been on Abilify. It started out as just fine and I became happier. Well my moods haven't worsened that's not really the issue--it's doing wonders. Well it's doing wonders for my legs too, they won't stop wanting to shake and I can't sit for long periods of time in my office, which is a problem, and I can't really sit and watch a full movie without needing to get up and run a few circles. Seriously it's the most freaking annoying thing ever. I can't function with shaky legs and this urge to just get up and move. At the pharmacy, however, I couldn't be better. The need to get up and move is helpful with keeping me ative at work! Haha

I'm thinking I'm going I have my doctor prescribe me mirapex or requip to combat the side effect I'm having... Which seems to be one of the only major side effects. It's not worth just quitting the pill because of this when something so simple as requip can help that right?

For my nurses and doctors and pharmacy peeps: would a dopamine agonist such as requip or mirapex really be beneficial? Have any of you guys experienced this and what did you do to resolve it?

" think you need to tell your doctor ASAP. It could be restless leg syndrome or tar dive dyskinesia..in any case your pdoc may want to to change dose or medication entirely..

it could be important that you tell doc sooner rather than later imho. "

" I have a right leg tremor, but no shaking like you describe. My pdoc said the tremor is ok. My hands also have tremors. I would talk to my pdoc if I were you, as suggested by the others. "

" Thanks guys, I was already set to visit him tomorrow so that will be on the agenda. I had a feeling it was RLS but the "TD" sounds weird too. "

" Hey guys just got back home from the pdoc. He prescribed propranolol for the akathisia I'm experiencing and said it would help as it has helped many other clients with neuroleptic induced akathisia. I can't wait for it to kick in and hopefully work. The plus side, is this drug also reduces blood pressure. Woo hoo! "

" Well it's starting in again... Wonder if laying down in bed with a few pillows stacked up under my knees will do the trick??? "
