I was on Depakote and had my dose raised at least twice with each raise l fell deeper into a depression for me l needed a complete med change but for you lowering the dose back could be better, you may be very sensitive to dose changes.

I went from 60mg of Geodon to 80mg and the change wasn't good, I hope you find the right dosage for you - I love the stuff, works excellent for me.

What did you experience going from 60mg to 80mg? Did you eventually even out going from 80mg back to 60mg? I hope I can find a happy medium. I am all new to this being diagnosed on 3/27/12. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it!

my pdoc told me that 40mg. was the dose prescribed for schizophrenia, and 80 mg. the dose for bipolar.

i take 40. well, i'm meant to take 40. haven't quite got around to it yet.

I have been on varying doses of Geodon for this past five or six years. For about three years I was on the max dose of 160mg and now I'm on between 40mg and 80mg, it varies from night to night, at my own discretion.

But to be honest I have never noticed a difference from being on the max 160mg as opposed to 40mg.

I would say 40mg does me just fine....

I will tell you one thing about the stuff, its almost impossible to get off. I have tried, against pdoc's advice, but the insomia that ensues is just horrendous. I want to rid my system of all these poisons but I just can't get the hell off them now...

Thanks for the replies and information. I appreciate it! I have decided to try and take 40mg this AM and 40mg at bed tonight. I was wondering if you can have depressive break through while on Geodon and it feel like the dosage is not working? Plus, I know this is TMI, but for the females...Does your mood change while going through your menstrual cycle, too? See I had the menstrual cycle, added Geodon to my body and felt depressed all at the same time, so I am wondering if that might be the reason for all the hoopla I have been going through...???

I had overdose symptoms, numb lips and tingling fingertips, so I went back down to 60mg and have been doing great since. I remember when I first started taking it I thought it was a miracle pill, I could feel it within 15 minutes, it was a great relief. Now I'm pretty stable.
