Hi All,
I'm asking for a friend that I met on FB. I, myself, have a wonderful great, loving, understanding relationship w/hubby but I met this wonderful lady who's has a controlling relationship. I've never been in one myself (more like I wouldn't stand for it & probably do time for assult) but that's a different story. Anyways, this lady's been married to her hubby for 11 yrs & can't work (due to medical reasons). He works but treats her like a slave (cooks, clean, sex). He's put a lock on all her favorite tv shows, has scared away a lot of her friends. She's brought up divorce but stays w/him becuase he treatens to take away their 11 yr daughter from her. They live in NH. (I know in WI, custody's generally 50-50). I was wondering if anyone knew of any agencies I could refer her to, give her advice, etc. Thank you! Posted on 10/21/09, 01:10 pm |

I found this
http://www.nhcadsv.org/crisis_cent... I hope this helps and I hope your friend gets out of that situation. She also may want to get a restraining order. If he's that controlling and she does get away I would think he would violently try and get her back. HOWEVER I have a tendency to think men are going to be violent so, I may be over reacting. Good luck!

The only way to solve the problem is for her to leave him. I have been there done that. Took tons of courage and a lot of time to heal. My very first baby steps in moving out were attributable to my therapist recommending a few books by Patricia Evans. It is a start to understanding what is happening to her -- it is him.
