I finally start my Risperdal tonight, after being off meds for over a week. My tdoc convinced me to take it. I have managed to develop a completely irrational fear of this med for some reason. Ah well, we will see how I react to it I suppose. Anyone have good experiences with it?

" Hi ArielleRose
love your picture that you have for your name. personally, I don't like any of the medications. have been on quite a few of them over the years. I am currently on risperdal along w/ depakote & cogentin to help w/ the side affects of the risperdal. I have found that particular drug very problematic for me. (have been on it several years now) tremors/stopped my period/no libido - the obvious ones to me. I don't like it at all. am hoping that a new psy Dr can help me get off of it. I hope that you do well w/ whatever you decide. whatever you do, make sure that you have a good psy Dr that will help you. you don't want to be on these drugs any longer than you have to. they are all problems after awhile. would like to hear how you do w/ this med.
it can be frustrating trying out different meds. be patient. let it speak for itself. don't expect good or bad. have a good trust relationship w/ your Dr & get well. IsabellaAlexis "

" Thanks, Isabella, for your input. I really appreciate it. We'll see how I react to it I suppose. I have a good pdoc who listens to me so I think he'll work with me to find the right meds. I agree that they all seem problematic. Take care! "
