I posted this on OCD board however got zero info. We really do have the BEST board!!!! I love us!

I have a friend that has OCD. He just started college this year and left the dorm room to live with his grandmother due to what he felt was germy and dirty. Washes hands until they bleed. Very Very Angry and can be obusive. Very controlling young man. Extremely jealous of sibling and parents attention.
His Father has tried to get him help however he flies off the deep end and says he doesnt ever want to talk about it.

From what I've read this illness will continue to worsen if not treated. Is that correct?

If any of you know how his family can possibly help him please let me know.

Thanks so much for any advice.

" Your friend is his own worst enemy. It's up to him to recognize that he needs help and to get it. I don't know about it getting worse or not but it sounds bad right now and if it does get worse then he invites the intervention by medical authorities and forced treatment. It's a decision only he can make at this point. "

" Tommy is right. You can't make him get help. There are meds out there that would take a lot of the compulsivity away. Maybe he will get to a point of desperation and seek help. "
