I am currently taking lithium 900mg/day and seroquel 200mg/day, and have gained 30 lbs in 6 months, as a result my doctor is switching me from seroquel to carbamazepine. I was wondering if carbamazepine causes weight gain like seroquel?

" That's strange that you are going to tegretol, as it is an anti-epileptic mood stabilier, not an anti-psychotic like seroquel. Was there ever any talk of putting you on a different AP like ability and geodon, both of which are supposed to be weight neutral? "
