does this med cause weight gain????? i'm coming off carbamazapine because of the weight gain... going to self medicate on topiramate but my psychiatrist says she'll prescribe me lamictal/lamotrigine...

No weight gain for me, thankfully. And my Dr. said that I shouldnt see weight gain.

lamictal has not changed my weight,
it is the seroquel and pizza that has done that. prozac made me horny, and lose weight (like 20 pounds, i wonder if they where related?) lol seriously tho no problems with lamictal, it has worked wonders for me for over 5 years :)

No weight gain on lamictal at all......... put on a stone with depakote in 10 weeks, lost it in 6 weeks on lithium.... am still losing on both lamictal and seroquel..... both being increased atm, so shall wait and see. We all react differently to these drugs.... but lamictal is supposed to be weight neutral, and of the 4 traditional mood stabilisers, the one with the least side effects all round
