In socializing, it is a lot of anxiety that consumes me, the lack of concentration and focus on my thoughts, not very much confidence. I am tired of trying medicines for every simptom i have, so I am trying to do for myself, yet this can become quite a struggle, consumed with a lot of stress and not wanting to deal with anyone. Can anyone give me some advice?

" the only advice i can give you is to go to therapy to gain coping skills and to try some small amount of medication to help control the anxiety while you work on the coping skills. "

" You probably don't want to hear this, but unfortunately there is probably only one word of advice: MEDS. "

" sure meds help, but i think (having the same problem) just trying to expose yourself (not THAT way!) repeatedy to social situations, in small increments and i think the anxiety wears off a bit. They advise this with other phobias, so why not social phobia? "

" Thank you, I am sure this will help, the only problem is, i usually have to go out and deal with people to a great extent since I need to take care of many issues; going to court, shopping for a lenght of time, appointments, etc. "

" My Pdoc is doing Psycho Therapy with me.

She says that the Anxiety in things we do everyday is brought on by our personalities, not by our disorders.

You can treat the diseas but not the personality.

You need to force yourself to do things that make you anxious and try and over come it.

Me, I go for coffee everyday in an OVER PACKED coffee shop and only make myself do one thing, smile if someone makes eye contact.

its hard and I cant say I am comfortable doin it, but I can see other aspects of my life changing.

I am not uncomfortable in an eleator with a stranger.

Just gotta keep trying to beat it. You can do it. "

" Today I had to go out to a school for some tutoring in English. I was one on one with the teacher and yet still I was anxious. Later that afternoon I went to visit a friend to give her some information about a project she had for me, it resulted that after a while, a whole group of friends of hers came over, I had so much anxiety, I felt it could come out of my mouth, like vomit, i was very hot inside, it is a terrible feeling, but I needed to bear with it, I stayed in one of her rooms away from everybody for about 1hr and then returned, I have had this since I was a child. I cannot hold a thought that is convenient for me rather I have a tendency to focus on what causes the anxiety, over and over, then from there comes depression one that makes me cry and cry and cry. I don't want medicine for this, I need natural remedies or something else. I have too many medicines to deal with already. "
