I have noticed that a lot of subconscious issues come out whenever I do art, whether in therapy or not.

Has anyone ever done it, if so, was it helpful or not, and how did you find a therapist who could do that?

" Not art, but poetry and song writing. That's when the "real me" comes out and I find out what is in my head.

Love,

" Has anyone ever tried "free drawing" -- like free writing, only drawing whatever comes to mind on a blank piece of paper?

I had a notebook for it, but it got soaked with water.

I should try it again though. Someone who can interpret its meaning can find a lot of insight that way. "

" I have noticed this and my sister the "shrink" of the family says it is because you use the other side of your brain to do artistic stuff so the regular part of your brain gets to sluff around a bit and will gnaw on little issues you might not have thot about in awhile. Or at a different slant "

" I know that's true for writing, too. But different things come out (sexual stuff) when I draw that don't come out when I write.

Facinating. "

" Ya I love doing art when I'm ill. I am most creative when I am manic and that is when I have inspiration. I find when I'm medicated it is less free flowing and mosre maticulous. I guess that is the sacrifice for sanity though. "
