On the one hand, I DO believe that if you look at the last 100 years or so of history, and compare it with how things are going today, you can see that things are already set in motion in such a way as to HAVE to come to a head one way or the other. It's cause and effect.
Now. Whether or not any major turmoil type events coincide with 2012, enh. Whatever. 2012 isn't really the issue. Besides, I don't think Earth is going to crumble and all that shit anyways. WE will continue to destroy OURSELVES with our hate and bad decisions. People are turning mean and ugly and soon, some idiot is going to see his or her opportunity and take this mess over and it will look better......for a minute...............and then the screws will really be turned. BUt then, even with all this, I don't think that it will end everyone and everything. I think there's usually a starting over point in these things and that will happen, but first there will be some major mindfucks until then. Enh. We'll see. Like someone else pointed out, just wait five minutes and we'll have another end of the world date. There's no end to 'em. Just ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses how many times the world has ended already. LOL. [injoke for former associates ;) ]

If the Mayans predicted the world would end in 2012, why couldn't they predict their own demise?

Being bipolar I welcome the end. I mean really, how much longer do I have to endure this life?
