" Maybe the people at your work didn't know what to say. Do they know your bp or have a mental illness?

Please know life is worth living. I was having the same thoughts a few days ago, and then someone reminded me how beautiful life could be. You may not think that now, but please know if you hang on your thoughts will change. You will feel better. Remember when you felt better, cherish that, know you will return to that place. And please get some help if you don't feel safe. "

" I was gone for a month and people didn't ask anything. I kept my illness a secret. That's why they didn't ask. They didn't want to butt in. That may be what happened with you.

*HUGS*

Are you still with us? You post an awful lot about suicidal ideation. Have you thought about calling your pdoc or heading to the hospital for evaluation? "

" I've been suicidal for easily 15 years and somehow always pulled through. I remember the day my dad called...i didn't answer because i knew he was going to lay it on thick. he said if i didn't call him back it might be the last time i talked to him. I don't want to do this to anyone else. it sucks...it's not an answer. I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Call your pdoc get some help (((hugs))) "

" I hope you like the suggestions you found here.

Just wanted to add that overdoses are such a bad idea. They just screw up your kidneys real bad and rarely do much else.

I'd try listening to some uplifting music. Do you like DMB, or the Blind Melons, Elton John, Billy Joes, or Michael Jackson? Or maybe you enjoy reading better. Pick a positive book from the library, one you've enjoyed before. That way, you will still be able to get the plot, even if your depression makes it too hard to focus. This happens to me when I'm either in a depression or a mania. There are lots of kind, caring people here. But, it is not the same as having someone who knows you intimately. Friends are invaluable when we're depressed. They love you no matter how pitiful you feel about yourself.

Please try a church, professional organization, alumni association, any place you could meet helpful people in a non threatening environment. Twelve step programs are also a low pressure way to meet caring people who understand mental difficulties. You CAN do this. I understand how hard it will be for you, but please make this investment in yourself. It only takes one close friend to make all the difference in your life.

You HAVE to create a support network for yourself. DS is a great start and I commend you for being here.

Sometimes all we have to do is STAND. That is the best advice I've ever received. I hope it helps you! " "
