So this morning when I woke up I was depressed and right now I am manic as all hell. I am so stressed out. I have a huge presentation tomorrow morning and a sleepless night ahead of me. I don't know how I changed so quickly. Has this happened to any of you? What can I do to calm myself down before I present? I was just put on depakote a week ago and apparently it isnt working. Its the tenth med that doesn't do anything and I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

" Lorazepam always calms me down if I'm manic/mixed. I also do martial arts which sometimes calms me down but at others can send me higher. "

" I have rapid cycling, and I've had it for months. I wish I could tell you what works for me, but there's not much. It helps to be conscious of you're mood at all times, and tell yourself when you know you're getting too high or too low. When you're too low, try to stay around people. It's hard to not crawl under your bed and sleep forever...but the more you force yourself to do, the better you'll feel. When you get too high, make sure you're in a safe environment. Try to be with someone who knows that you're sick and can look out for you. Sometimes when I'm really manic I can tire myself out eventually by running on a treadmill. Just focus on surviving, hour by hour. It sounds like you normally don't have rapid cycling, so maybe you'll go back into your normal mood changes soon. Good luck :] "
