** i posted a similar post several days ago - then got this new info. i'm honestly not even desperate anymore. i'm just done. i have looked into every single resource in the country.
i don't know how much longer i'll be there. i just found out my medication plan has a $3000 deductible. and another $3000 for my partner. i've never had a drug plan deductible. and with their prices, btwn my partner and myself, they will rise from $475/month to, with new drug plan, AFTER deductible, to $2750. i can't put any more feelings to words (oh, and that includes costco - it's not a hell of a lot cheaper when one takes 400 mg per day), i feel utterly helpless, hopeless. i went to a county assistance program - found out i was 200% below poverty line (now that really was a spirit-lifter - this former licensed clinical SW'er, grad school prof...). BUT, that does not qualify me for anything else, as all the other assisatnce programs use a stricter guideline, they will happily "re-train" me - but at my very pathetic wages (the one that makes me 20% below poverty guidelines - well, i already make more than what i could be retrained for. how long can someone with bipolar live without medication? i can't go on disability - my partner is on my insurance, cannot ge her own due to self-emply and now a very, very serious illness. hey LunaCat! I have the same issues. Right now I have no insurance! so i cant even get in to see a good doc much less buy meds. I started working fulltime nights because I just can't handle the day shift anymore i may just seek out like public assistance or something.
