Been Dx Bipolar, ADHD, OCD for a few years now. Medication has only been marginally helpful and I even had Electric Convulsive Therapy 8 times a couple years back.
Around that time I was put on 600mg Seroquel and between that and the ECT I was pretty out of it. I applied and was approved for Social Security Disability but due to financial restraints I went back to work before it kicked in. So of course they reversed the approval. Fast forwat to this year, I left my wife of 1 years and have since met someone who I now live with. The return to work didn't go so well. So long as I was on the Seroquel I could not get up to get to work at 6:30 am. I was forced into a desk job and my ADHD kicked my butt. I could not concentrate to sage my life. Sometimes I would go a whole week without doing any real work. Well it caught up to me in July when I got fired. Soon after my doctors told me to reapply for social security. They said where I was approved before I am cerainly going to get approved again. Well its been almost 2 months since my interview and the social security office is making me go to their doctor tommarrow for a 2nd opinion. I am scared. I do not believe I did this last time but 1) I was out of it and 2) my ex won't tell me. Anyone gone through this process? Any pointers? Any one ever ben on then off and then reapplied for benifits? If so how did it go? Any info would be great...sorry post was so wordy. Tom Posted on 11/10/09, 08:11 pm |

I went to the social security doctor and was approved. I was told it was to gather more information about my case. Also, a lawyers office told me that it usually means that you will be approved.

I went to their doctor ... sucked bigtime but I weathered it. If I can do it anybody can do it. You'll be ok.

I had to go to one of their choice for a doc as well and things went good. Just be honest and let them know what is really going on with you.

Returning to work...uhhh, no. As stated in original post, I tried that and fell on my ass.
Had my appointment. Started off nervous because the doctor kept going on and on about how much he hates my regular doctors and how they are incompetent and evil...his words not mine. Also the guy was blind...weird. But in the end he diagnosed me with the samething my regular doctors did and even commented I should be a slam dunk approval. So here is hoping he wasn't yanking my chain for fear of my going postal and squishing him like a bug...I'm a big guy. So now I get to hurry up and weight some more.
