Hi folks,
Im new to this group, but Ive been bipolar since 2004 or at least that's when i became diagnosed. anyway, recently i have been having some trouble with my over analyzing thoughts.

do you think this is a bipolar trait or just something i do separate from being bipolar?

i was very stressed out earlier b/c of a recent situation. i tried hard to let it go since there is nothing more to talk about with this situation or conclude at this point. i can't seem to block it out or stop my mind from analyzing different viewpoints. i'm just tired, and I want to stop. I want to be able to let go of these thoughts and not think anymore about this particular issue, and instead take this energy that i have and direct it into something more productive.

how can I do this?

Also, it really scares me that something of this stature can get into my head and cause this much stress. what's gonna happen when something else comes along that's harder to deal with and worse?

what will i do then... end up in the hospital again and then spend two freakin years recovering?

any advice?

" The obsessive thoughts may be related to BP but are probably OCD. OCD is part of the Anxiety Disorders and I have some of those traits. Meds might have an effect on the obsessive thoughts. You can also replace the negative thoughts with positive thoughts. That takes some work but it does pay off.
Here's website that explains about it:

I hope that works for you! "

" Eckart Tolle talks about the thinking itself is compulsive and obsessive.
What happens to you is normal as usual, you should be concerned if frequency and intensity cannot be controlled(how often, how important is the subject of obsession, can you distract from it with friends or TV).

The is a way to STOP ALL THINKING without dying, it's call meditation. "

" Meditation, meditation, meditation. There are tons of good books on the subject that can help you learn how to "stop thinking". Google "meditation tips" or "stop thinking". There is tons of free information on the subject. If nothing else it will give you something to do to distract you from your obssessive thoughts.

Good luck Hun. "

" Controlling your thoughts takes work. I think you overanalyzing it is related to your bp but not a trait of bp. I had extreme thoughts like this from a very young age and thought it was normal. Capping your thoughts is tough without help. Meditation helps. Your favorite music could work too. You need to find ways to capture your mind's focus and redirect all that energy into anything else but that stress. I recommend balancing your brain waves. neurofeedback. ftw. "
