  • Let's remember who she is and what she does.....

Wednesday, March 12, 2008 | An Educational story

A much better day today.  I feel OK.
I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours with one of my most favorite gals.....Ms Barbara.  What an amazing woman she is.  So full of love, honesty, courage, committment, and compassion.  No, that's not the end of the list, but you get the idea.  In a nutshell....she's incredible.
For those of you who may not know, and for t...

  • Lessons I Have Learned.....

Sunday, September 7, 2008 | An Educational story

Do not give this same baby crayons to hold while taking her to the baby...

A Letter from a Shelter Manager
I think our society needs a huge "Wake-up" call. As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all...a view from the inside if you will.
First off, all of you breeders/sellers should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter for just one day. Maybe if you saw the life drai...

  • What I've Learned

Thursday, May 21, 2009 | An Educational story

While I've been ill and not working I've had a lot of time to think. Scary thought, but I did and I've learned a few things which I feel I should share with you all.
When I stumbled on this site, I was lost and alone and thinking my life was over and I knew not how to go on. I'd lost my only son and could not reconcile that into my life. I thought why me, what have I done to desire...

  • Disenfranchised Grief

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 | An Educational story

Disenfranchised Grief "Disenfranchised grief" is when your heart is grieving but you can't talk about or share your pain with others because it is considered unacceptable to others. It's when you're sad and miserable and the world doesn't think you should be, either because you're not "entitled" or because it isn't "worth it."
    See if any of...
