My favorite pirate

My sister was a school teacher. She taught 4th and 5th grades. A few years ago, at her school, they decided to have a "Dress as your favorite storybook character day". My sister decided to dress as captain hook. She never did anything halfway. When I saw the picture of her dressed as captian hook, you could hardly tell it was her. Thats how she was. That day, during her free period she went to every classroom, stuck her head in the door and said AAARRRGGGHHH. I can imagine the childrens delight, their squeals of surprise. When my sister died six weeks ago, one thing the school did to help the students was to have them write letters to the family and to her. I read several of those letters. Many had pictures of her in heaven. Some said they were praying for our family, a few said Get Well Soon to her. I realized the innocence of those children. How some of them didn't understand death. But on each and every letter I read, was the word AAARRRGGGHHH! Those children will never forget her or that day. She touched so many lives.
Today, on this halloween, I am thinking of my favorite pirate.

" You are looking at the fond memories of your sister and that is what gets us through our grief. Your sister sounds like she was a wonderful person and teacher. She was defienetly in an admirable career and it shows she cared about helping others.

I hope you have many, many happy memories of her. Happy Halloween. "
