I just lost my mom on Wednesday November 4th. She had Lung Cancer and Emphysema and I watched her suffer. She was in extreme mental anguish in the end. She did not want to cause me sorrow, but wanted to go "home". I am fortunate that I got to tell her my feelings and listen to her feelings, as little comfort as that brings. I am still in shock although it was expected. People think I am not grieving "properly" because I did not have a nervous breakdown at her wake. My mom was very strong and would want me to stay strong in public, grieve in private. I also lost my Dad in 2004, which was sudden. SO they are now together in heaven. It is a terrible thing to go through, and I know the holidays will be very sad and the real reality has not even set in yet.
