I lost my mom May 2, 2011. This is a poem I wrote. It is like she is in Heaven writing it about me.
Heaven I’m spending my first Christmas in heaven with the angels. I’m telling them your story of all that you’ve been through, And how you have overcome more then I ever thought you would. I’m telling them you were the one who kept me going strong, And how you sent me cards and letters that always made me smile. I’m telling them you always knew just what to say to me, And reminded me that I was cared for and loved through out the days. I’m telling them you did all you could to help me out, And how you made feel like I was someone special. I’m telling them you have a heart that is really made of gold, And how you like to put others right before yourself, I’m telling them that everyone should have a daughter just like mine. And how you will hold a special place inside my heart forever. I’m telling them my dream came true the day that you were born, And how you keep on going no matter what life brings. I’m telling them I keep your picture with me at all time, And I look at it when I need to know I am not alone. I’m telling them how you always called and played our song, And how it made me cry lots of happy happy tears. I’m telling them I love you more and more throughout the year, And how you make me proud with each goal that you achieve. I’m telling them I brought along a CD that you made, And how I listen to it every time that I feel sad. I’m telling them I call you my Petunia that is your name, And that I know you’ll always be with me every day. I’m telling them that you will still send my special cards, And that they will have a lot of words to brighten up my life. I’m telling them I know my passing hit you hardest, And how you will always try to act just like you are fine. I’m telling them I know you have such great support, And that they will see right through you and help you when they can. I’m spending my first Christmas in heaven with the angels, And I’m telling them you are the Wind Beneath my Wings Posted on 06/22/12, 08:20 pm |

I encourage you to write more. When you are in your "right " mind, your loved ones often write through you - I don't mean automatic writing, more like soul linking. My partner of 45 years was a published poet, well known in my country and abroad - I never wrote poetry. All I can tell you is, now I do write poetry, and I never feel it is from me, but rather to me.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OMG that poem is absolutely beautiful. I lost my mom in Nov. 2010 at the age of 68. She went in for a simple carotid artery procedure, she went into cardiac arrest and had a massive stroke. I miss her so much. I am having a very hard time living without her. She was my best friend, she was always there for me, no matter what. I feel so alone without her. I feel like my soul is broken and life will never be the same. I know everyone always says it gets easier with time, it still hurts like it was yesterday. Thanks Life very much for the poem. It seemed to bring Mom close to me for that moment.
Hugs, Kim
