I've been living with BP for about 7 months now. My smile is slowly but surely getting back to normal, but what is bothering me the most is the excessive eye watering when I eat!! It's very annoying! Does anyone else have this problem?

" Yes, even after all these years (31) the eye on my affected side waters when I eat, AND when I'm in air conditioning. "

" In order to properly lubricate the eyeball, the eyelid must be tight. It must be able to create negative suction. Bell's makes the eyelid loose and so it does a less effective job of keeping the eyeball moist. As a result you are suffering from dry eye and the eye waters to attempt to fix the problem. Wind and air conditioning dry the eye out faster, so it may only be in these conditions that you notice a problem. It may seem crazy that a watering eye is dry, but I learned all this from an eye doctor. I started using Visine eye drops and that helps enormously.

If you can wear a visor or cap to shield your eye from air conditioning that will help it stay moist. "

" I had BP AUG. 2008 till Jan. 2009 and I am now almost 100%. My eye would water every time I ate. It still waters every once and a while. It seems to water only when i eat food that is REALLY good. Its funny but it does. I notice when I am really enjoying what I eat or if its full of flavor (sweets) my eye will water. "
