i woke up a week ago and my top left side of lip was nimb , its been a week now
and i research it and search results are bells palsy , seem very much like bells but not sure i dont have the sagging in my face or eye, just numb lip and it moves to my cheek and jaw,
i want to ask can it be a mild case of BP ( does some have it milder then others)
i know i need to go to a doctor so no need in saying that , but i dont have insurance and i dont have the money it will take ( not working like lots of people these days )

" um... it may be something similar to bell's palsy in that a nerve is affected but i dont think that it is bell's palsy exactly, in which the seventh cranial nerve is affected. the seventh cranial nerve does not control sensation, and therefore most people who have bells palsy do not really experience numbness, just an inability to control facial muscles. while some do have milder cases than others, i have not heard only a lip being affected. however, bell's palsy does affect everyone differently and it is not outside of the realm of possibility. " I would suggest that you see your doctor. There is another condition similar to Bell's Palsy called Ransay Hunt Syndrome and you need for the doctor to see you so that he can rule that or Bell's out. There may be some other neurological reason for the numbness. Please do make an appointment to see your doctor. The reason I say this is because actual numbness is not really a symptom of Bell's. You do get the same tickling sensation when the nerve starts to repair itself that you would whne your moth wears off from having Novocaine, but the symptoms of Bell's is more that you simply cannot make the muscles in your face move. The skin itself feels quite normal to the touch. "

" although you are right in one way, when i woke up the first morning my left side of my face was in fact numb it felt like coming home from the dentist after having a filling, it wasnt until the next day that i could feel my face again and the numbness had disappeared. although it was replaced by no ability to move my facial muscles. i hope this helps, because although it sounds alot like bells palsy it may also be something else. and u should have a cat scan just to make sure to rule out any thing else that may be sinister.
