I wet the bed as a child into my late teens. In 2006 I began to wet the bed again. We thought it was medication induced. I was taking a lot of mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, an antidepressant, sleeping medication, and many other meds. Well, gradually went off all mood stabilizers but one, dc'ed the antipsychotics, and started DDAVP. The DDAVP works wonders and if I do miss the dose I wet the bed. I took my dose last night and as usual I didn't wet the bed but this morning about 5 I took 2 mgs of xanax and went to bed again. I peed a river while I was in bed. I know not to do that again. So, I do believe meds had something to do with it but not all. How do you deal with it?

God bless,
Teressa

" Teressa,
Bedwetting can happen at any age, and for a long list of reasons. Surgery has left me without any control, so I must wear diapers and plastic pants 24/7, and do my best to get on with life. That can be difficult at times, and sites like this help a great deal. If medications work, and do not cause any bad side effects, wonderful. However, they do not work for everybody, and some folks have had terrible results. I have tried them before my surgery, and diapers and plastic pants worked better. Paxton "

" I am a 43 year woman. When I was in my early twenties, I had an alcohol problem, and started wetting the bed when I finished detox. The bed wetting lasted about 7 months, and then stopped. I started wetting the bed again, about 6 months ago, and it has been every night. I wear protective underwear, but those can leak. I have gotten a bed liner that helps a lot. I was wondering if there are others out there with this problem and how do they deal with it. "

" Well I guess I am a young adult bedwetter. Had been wetting my bed most my life and now I am in college. I still wet the bed about once a week. Was down to like once a month but lately it came back.
Oh well. So guess there are a lot of us out there.

Jor "

" I am a 62 yr. old chronic bedwetter. I have been bedwetting since i was 32 yrs. old as a result of a severe bladder and UT infection>. I sleep in a disposable diaper with 4 diaper liners and a pair of plastic or rubber panties. I also have a plastic mattress protector on my bed. "

" Hello
I never grew out of wetting to bed. I have some dry morns and wet ones. I am now 37 years old single mom with 2 children. Both my children 8 and 11 are still wetting to bed.
I'm really thinking about talking to my doctor about medication. "
