Omg, its been forever since I last signed in or came to this site. With work and school, its difficult to focus on anything else.
However in all this time my enuresis hasn't gotten any better. I do have a question for you guys. Does your bedwetting seem to go in cycles? As in, for weeks or months does it just seem constant and then calms down abit? This is what seems to happen to me. I'm also wetting more frequently during the daytime, which is so scary!!! I never used to have to worry about that. I'm thinking of trying the bedwetting alarm. Had anyone tried it? If so, what were the results? Are there any other remedies you guys recommend? Thanks, and so glad to be back!!! Posted on 06/11/12, 03:24 am |

Hi, yes, I think it's really common for bedwetting to get better and worse in cycles - lots of things can affect it, but for me the biggest factors seem to be stress and lack of sleep, both of which seem to make it much worse (but still not totally predictable). For me it's more a case where in "good" times I can be dry for several weeks straight, while in "bad" times I can wet several times in one week before it starts to subside again. Everyone is different though, and I've had times in the past where my overall amount of wetting has been worse than it is now, but the fluctuations were still there.
The daytime wetting you mention concerns me, especially if you've never had a problem with it before and it just started recently. If you'd always had problems with it that would be one thing, but if it just suddenly started, there is probably a reason for it - things like that don't usually "just happen". I would recommend at least talking to a doctor about it. Maybe there is a free clinic in your town or campus you could visit with some relative anonymity - but you should at least rule out the possibility of some underlying medical condition causing the recent change. If there's nothing medically wrong, Kegel exercises are often recommended to help with daytime wetting - not sure if you've tried that or not, but if you punch it into Google you can find some good explanations of how to do them. Good luck, talk to you more soon!!

I have noticed with myself that it does go in cycles, and stress does play a big factor in it. And as for kegels, I have read that they may worsen the situation. I do agree that you should see a doctor to rule out problems. Me I have recently found out that I have a nerve pinched in my lower back that may be causing my wetting at night, but I have also noticed that emotional stress does play a part in how much I wet.

Yes, I never really had to worry about daytime wetting. I recall doing it less than a hand full of times per year. I think it might be stress, luckily the main stressor I had at the time is over, so hopefully it'll stop. @tempest366 Like I mentioned before I had a huge stressor dealing with finances. I was fired from my job unjustly and my manager lied and tried to stop me from receiving unemployment benefits, however she couldn't prove her lie and I win my claim, so that stress is over. Thank you for replying.p

Stress never seemed to effect my bedwetting, and I never noticed any 'cycles', just random.
I've wet at night my entire life, but over the last couple years have lost much of my daytime control as well. Alarms never worked for me.
