I am at my wit's end trying to figure out exactly what is going on with my neck anymore. It has actually taken precedence over my major lumbar spine problems as of late. I have mild degeneration with two pinched nerves with stenosis worse on the right side. I keep waking up with what feels like a stiff neck, but this is the least of the problem right now. Shortly after waking up feeling this neck pain, and slow, steady headache keeps building more and more as the day wears on: it is a progressive process which then leads to nausea from the severity of the headache. When this happens, nothing I take helps and my entire day is stolen from me. What does a pinched nerve have to do with the onset of a migraine like headache? I am going to get the epidural done asap, but I would really like to know exactly what is happening here more and more often. I actually feel like my day is stolen from me and want to correct things if I can! Does anyone else get this 'syndrome'?

I had c6-7 herniated disk, spurs, etc, and the disk was pressing on nerves. Last July I had fusion and it helped alot. I too had severe headaches (many years before had migraines and those were nothing compared to the headaches caused by my neck). I could be ok one minute and the next, nausea and vomitting from the pain even though I was on fentanyl pain patch 75 mg, vicodin or tramadol and muscle relaxers. My head felt as though it weighed 50 lbs crushing my neck into my shoulder region.
I had injections and, for me, they helped but not enough. Talk to your doctors about pt or exercises you can do at home and make them part of your daily routine. When I had the headaches and nausea, ice on the back of my neck/shoulders was my friend, and in the winter, I put a heat pack on my tummy or used the heating blanket to keep the rest of me warm while using the ice. I hope you find relief soon and wish you well!!! :)

I have a buldging disc in my neck, I also get migraines, my back, thighs, legs, feet sometimes everything hurts. The doctor told me that a problem in your neck can affect you from your head to your feet.
