I'm getting fitted for a back brace next week. It has a hot/cold pack inside it so I am happy about that. Other than that it feels like I'm getting old before my time. Does anyone else have one? Please tell me if you like them or not! Thanks!

Wish I could help, but I don't have one. Instead of buying hot packs, I take a long tube sock and fill it with uncooked white rice from the grocery store. I tie it off when it's as full as I want it to be (not too full...I like the rice to be able to move around in the sock and conform to my body). Then I stick it in the Microwave for 1 minute and it's nice and warm. Careful - it can get too hot and cause burns! Test it before applying it to the injured area.
This method has saved me money, and it is safe and more comfortable than most of the hot packs I've tried thus far. Enjoy!

i just had anterior/posterior surgery on the 28th of march and i got fitted for my brace the day before i left the hospital and no i do not like mine i guess cause it is fitted for the lower back where i had the surgery( they fused L-4 to S-1) but it pushes down on the stmoache incision and causes it to hurt alot. But when i had my surgery in 2002 i also had a back brace and i loved it.
I know how you feel i am using my walker once again and i know the doctor propmised all the leg pain to disappear but not sure about any of the back problema but it is just my hips. I know i need to walk but they hurt sooo bad. I hope things get better.
