Down but not out....part 2

Well, the deck is finished and not only that, the fellas, on their own, installed railings on either side of the steps for me to hold onto going up and down them. I didn't ask them to do that, they took it upon themselves. They also widened the part you go through to get off the deck to accomodate a wheelchair if I need it down the road...again, they did that out of the kindness of their hearts.
I've been so very blessed with these fellas, not only for the quality of their work but their thoughtfulness.

I got everything but the 4 large trees planted as well as mixed up enough concrete to put into the areas under the sidewalk that had washed out and would have eventually caused new cracks/breaks. That was a weeee bit
rough on my back and neck but I knew it would be. H did help mix the quickcrete with the water for me, but I had to put it in place and such since he just cannot do anything like that.
Had the temps not been so high, ( low-mid 90's and high humidity) I probably wouldn't be feeling quite so bad today.
Still have a dozen plants to put in that are ground cover to prevent one part by the front sidewalk from washing out. I'd put grass in there but not being able to use the weed-eater now had that looking pretty nasty. This way, I'll have a double benefit.....ground not washing out as well as something pretty to see when I pull into the driveway:):)
I'm going to try to beat the heat getting the flowers planted, it'll be rough enough making sure the trees go in right:):):)
Wearing those braces is bad enough without having the temps as they are!!!!
I'm keeping the electrolytes up and drinking a lot of water to avoid any level of dehydration...sure don't need any complications!!!:):)

I 'll be paying dearly after everything is done today but in the long run, it will have been worth it. Everything I planted only needs watering so I don't have to worry about keeping anything, trimmed or "shaped".

Thank heaven for my pain meds and my buddies (heating pads and ice)
they're going to be quite close to me today:):):)

Hope everyone has a pleasant Sat. and at the least, a low pain day as well....

Take care everyone and thanx for listening:):)

" It sounds wonderful, I know you will enjoy this for many years. So nice to have compassionate helpers.
Do you ever soak in an Epson Salt bath? I have not tried it, after a day like you had, but it might be nice. Also, you might take a Pain pill tonight. Hopefully, you will be surprised and feel good tomorrow, I hope so! "

" I ended up with heat exhaustion and dehydration b4 I got the trees in but went ahead and finished those anyway. I thought I was taking in enough fluids to avoid that but apparently I wasn't:(:(
I'd dearly love to soak in a tub....this is kind of funny....my tub is quite short, ony about 3 ft. long and I'm close to 6ft so I can't get my back down into that water..LOL
I took my pain pill as well as a muscle relaxer during the day as rx'd but with my bp having dropped so low 95/65 and my pulse up (97) I didn't take it as often as I could have. I was worried about the way I was feeling overall and didn't want to risk anything worse happening.
Aside from the pain, things have returned pretty much to normal. I just took a pain pill and am waiting for it to kick in.
My H has no interest in things like the yard or helping me, and only mixed the concrete to keep me quiet, but that's a very different situation.
Now, if I just could convince my mind that I'm not still in my 40's and 50's I'd be fine:):) LOL "Mind over matter" didn't quite work out so well.
At least it's all done now and I can stay indoors today:):) I hope this level of pain will be eased in a couple more days!!

Hope you have a pleasant Sunday:):)
