Here's my situation.,. I have a tethered spinal cord,, this is the third time.. I have had back surgery for it twice,, Well one neurosurgeon says he can not operate on me because I have to much scar tissue.. So I have been taking oxycodone and flexerall for pain and its not helping,, So yeaterday my doctor called me and has suggested methadone.. I know what it is and have looked it up online and I am a little nervous about taking it..
Does anyone have any experience in it?
Thanks

" I have been on 80 Mg's of Methadone now for the last year, and to me it has been the "magic" pill. It not only takes care of my intractable pain after 5 spinal surgeries, but it also takes care of my nerve pain.

Like everyother medication is not for everyone. Some people will get side effects that affect them, so like I said before FOR ME, it is great. Give it a try and see how it works for you... You could always go to something else. Good luck to you. "

" You are very, very welcome. I always say, try the medication, if it works for you, hurray! If it doesn't, then talk to your PM Doc and let him know. Not every medication is for everyone, and I HATE when I see people here or in any other forum, conversation, etc... talking bad about a medication.

Just because someone had a bad reaction to a specific medication, it does not mean that is going to be the same with me or you or the person next door. That is why is always good to trust our Doctor's and trust our instincts..... If something is not good for us, we usually know within a few days of taking the medication.

Good luck finding a surgeon, and keep us posted in your quest. "
