Advice:
What does it mean when I have trouble urinating

Hello. I have been suffering from lower back pain and have had several epidurals. I am approved for a discogram, where they hope to find out why I am in so much pain and for now they give me medication to relieve symptoms. About a week ago I started cymbalta, so I now take 4 different types of pills each day. In the last few days I have trouble initiating urinating (excuse this rather embarrassing topic) and it will stop part way through and I have to make an effort to do it again. It can happen up to 2 - 4 times each time I go. I drink a lot of water. Does anyone know what this means? It doesn't burn, it just doesn't want to come out. I am a female, I knoe I have 3 herniated disks and SI Joint problems, but they cannot figure out what is wrong, though the discogram - a scary topic in itself - will help, I hope. I welcome any advice, comments. Thsnk you.

" I had that problem once and googled "trouble urinating" and learned of several conditions that can cause this. It went away on it's own and I cannot at all remember what those conditions were. Wish I could be more helpful but anyhow you might google it. I hope it gets better.

" did this start when you started the cymbalta or has it een going on before? If this just started with the start of new meds. this is something you need to let your doc know, even if it is not your meds it could be nerve problems you have herniated dics and si joint problems it could very well be the nerves or sciatica. You really need to bring this up to your dr as soon as you can. I am confused you say you have the herniated discs and SI joint disfunction yet they can not tell what the problem is?????? Maybe time to get a new dr. the problem is herniated discs etc.!!! maybe i missed something there but i dont get why they can figure that out. well good luck and call your dr. talk to the nurse and let her know and she will let you know what you dr. wants you to do.
