I have the Prescion, Spinal Cord Stimulator. Has anyone ever had to replace the remote? Is it difficult? Is it expensive?
It's difficult to post here. A LOT of stuff to do to get in.

I have the Boston Scientific/Precision model also and I have never had to replace my remote. But, you should call the company rep. that was there during your installation or the 1-800 customer service line to see if they will send you one. How did you damage your remote? or did you loose it???
BTW, I find this site to be very easy to post in, don;t find it hard at all...... You could try chronicpainsite.com to see if that is easier for you. Good luck with your SCS.

tipper,
Thanks. I destroyed the remote by accident last night, which of course was Friday night & so I've called my Rep, she's a great gal, & left her a message about it. I also told her that I of course don't expect her to work on the weekends but, nevertheless, I STILL just like to know if the remote even can be replaced. On one hand, I would think it could, but on the other hand I'm wondering if the implant it communicates with & the remote are tuned to each other & the implant won't respond to another remote. I'm just concerned but of course Monday morning office hours are only about 40 hours away. ughh. Just thought there might be someone else who's done such a dumb thing as I did. Anybody?

Santa,
You are OK. One time I had to go to my PM's office to do a "tune up" on my programs and I was in a hurry and ooohhppss! forgot my remote control at home. My company rep. was like "no worries, I got an extra one here and I can get you reprogrammed"....... I was like yeay! So I would think that any other remote control will be able to help you out and I am sure that the reps. have a little program in their computers to make a new remote compatible to your installed SCS. Anyways let me know what happens, I would be interested to know since you never know............ it could happen to me one of these days. Good luck,

OK! I know it's been a long time since anyone heard from me but - IF you're wondering how the problem of losing my remote (or accidently destroying it actually) - It ended up costing us a lot of money! As it turned out, insurance wouldn't cover it because it was so close to the time I had the implant surgery & got the 1st remote.
And the companies are clamping down on their agents because they were giving away too many remotes. So, I can tell you, it is VERY expensive to lose a SCS remote. Hang on to that remote! Do not lose it! And don't trust that clip on the case! I know THAT from experience!
