" I don't have a child with anxiety. But I have developed it as an adult.
I have had to turn to meds. Xanax to help me cope. All of my other coping skills literally go out the window when my attacks come on.

I've heard that some yoga like exercises help. Also, I just learned about this today. It's called Brain Gym.

The concept behind this is to build things such as confidence, attitude, helps with memory as well as physical coordination and academics.

Maybe something like this would help your child be more confident thus reducing the anxiety? I know that for me, when I'm confident about something....I don't have the anxiety anymore. Just a thought. "

" I ran across an interesting site: http://www.autism-in-the-christian...

It's called Autism in the Christian Home. It's a preachy site but they have some interesting supplement suggestions.

DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY TREATMENT
Our discussion about autism treatment would not be complete without also including depression and anxiety treatments. Depression and anxiety often accompany autism particularly due to the additional stress that autistic individuals experience. Omega 3 fish oil , an MSM supplement, and 5-HTP are especially helpful for depression. A magnesium supplement and a vitamin B complex are quite useful for anxiety. "
