We have all been horribly sick for about a week.....we went to the doctor last week they said flu.......then Ette started to get blisters......I thought "GREAT" chicken pox so I took them back they said "NO" he is just picking at his skin...kids with autism do that....so we were cleared to go back to school.....
Ette never picks at himself.....so I wasnt convinced..... School calls needs a doctors note....so I take him in...AGAIN...different doctor of course because it would be silly if lthey gave you the same one... All I needed was a note to go back to school....and what I got was a boat load of more medicine because those fun little blisters are IMPETIGO..... So now I have to call the school and let them know that I exposed 22 kids and teachers to a highly contagiouse disease because Ette has Autism and doesnt complain....because kids with Autism pick at themselves.... Im annoyed.... Why is it that when I tell a medical professional that my son has Autism and cant tell you what is wrong.....they think...."well then nothing is wrong".....or....Im just waisting there time, because I THINK there is...... Seems like there should be a procedure to work up kids with Autism when something is wrong.....they should have another way of diagnosing the problem other than asking ME how HE feels....or asking him and expecting an answer.... i understand your frustration , for some reason my grandsons pediatrician seems to forget he has autism, my grandson also picks at his skin he has prpbably what will be permament scars because of it,are they sure it is impetigo? i ask because my familt told my daughter that she had impetigo , but a dermatologist told her no sooooooo

doctors can really be annoying sometimes. i'm so sorry you had to go thru that. if i were you, i would ask for a referral to a dermatologist to make sure that 's what it is.
i had an experience not too long ago with mine. except after 45 minutes there, found out that he was not even there. i got graced with a nurse practioner . i'm sorry but when i pay a speciality copay, i expect to see someone with an MD behind their name not NP
