routine is so very important to our kids. i thought maybe everyone could share how you do the daily routine with your child.

my boy loves a schedule.... has to have it even if it is "we're not going anywhere today, we are staying home". i find that my son's anxiety is reduced when he at least he knows what is going to happen each day.

we used to use a picture schedule but now that he is older, i'm finding that since he does have high functioning autism and is fairly verbal, if we talk about it every morning, he's okay with it.
i've also learned that we make an alternative plan in case plans change.

picture schedules or pecs are wonderful and i recommend them for anyone especially the younger kids.

" We use a pic schedule as julie is very visual, and really needs to know what your day will be like and who she will see. keeps her calm.. If her routine changes does not handle very well.. "
