What do you mean....like if he wanted an apple and you gave him a banana?
I know that if I dont know what Ette wants and I start to offer things in hopes of finding out he will stim....but what else can you do when you have no idea and they cant tell you.... So in this case I would say yes....I think stimming can come from a frustrating situation...

In my experience with my son and stimming, I would get him engaged with an activity or have him bounce on his giant bouncy ball. That usually works. (my son is 5 years old).
