I started him on zinc/dmg/and taurine this last weekend on Sat . On monday I mixed all three together and gave it to him in gadorade. On monday evening we noticed him bendin his hands like the mental retarded people do and very agitated. I went and got activated charcoal. Gave him some in a drink. Has anything happened to any of you like that?

Nothing like that has happened to Eddie, but he has gotten rashes and hyves. I have been on a medication that i had a stroke from. Be very carefull when you mix or try new medications on a child they are very sensative conpared to adults. I also have had other reaction like pasing out do to meds. Now i always check with the doctors or the pharmasist to see if there is a reaction with meds even vitamines sotimes can have a reaction with other meds. Hope this helps.

"the mental retarded people" ???- you mean "people, who have a congnitive delay" ?
My son has a cognitive delay and doesn't do what you are describing. Either does my 4 year old child who had blonde curly hair. To me it sounds like he could have possibly had a seizure . I'd talk to his doctor. but rememeber he is a person first, not a diagnosis.

I am getting old now, so hubby brought home DMG in a woman's libido formula from Sam's Club. I have not tried too much, but last night he got me to try 1 and I was having a bit of flat ale and I was out by 8 pm then woke up at 1 really mad and could not sleep. We had a weather front system cause warm humid night, and now the front is switched back to 15 degrees cooler, so I think it might also be a cause, but IDK... I took another about 20 minutes ago, and I'll check in if anything weird happens.
I personally do not but gatorade or anything not natural. Especially for Oliver, he gets really tense and upset with the artificial colors and artifical flavor and sweeteners. You may need to not use that. I think this stuff stimulates the blood vessels, so if that is the case the kid would absorb what it is taken with. My product says clearly take with LARGE glass of WATER. I think that few ounces of beer really affected me, even though there is no warning to not mix, I felt the effect.

Could have been a mixture of the three.... I had Sean on Zinc awhile back and Sean got sick while taking it.... upset stomach and the runs... plus he got the worst cold he ever had!!! Not sure... but maybe it was mixing it together and then compile it with the artificial color like Olismom said... maybe just a bad mix and bad reaction... how is he now?

Mental retardation is a clinical term like it or not....and does have its own set of symptoms and common "Looking" charactoristics....
But having limp wrists and/or tight rigid body parts would be cause for concern.....have you spoken to a doc?

Anthony's Dan Doctor says it could be the mixing of the three it needs to get out of his system. What do you other mothers give your kids to drink besides water and rice water. Try to keep him away from soda He is doing better. Didn't mean to affend anyone but didn't know how to discribe what he was doing I'm so sorry.

LV2BMOM - yes it is clinical term, a very archaic one. But should never be used first.Or used at all anymore. We are all people first. I would never refer to someone with Cerebal palsy as " Oh did you see that Cerebal Palsy girl?" or a cancer patient in the manner of "I was shopping and saw a Cancer person today" My point was that someone should not be defined by their diagnosis. My son is first and foremost a child! He just happens to have Down Syndrome Epilepsy, Autism, Blue Eyes and spiky hair too.

Norahwill----Sorry but some of us don't know how to say it unless we describe. I believe there are majority of others the only way is to describe if we don't have the technicial word to us. I'm not the first and sure won't be the last that have to describe what I am trying to say. Sorry if you took it so personal. You are just throwing this way over board.

Hi Nanabc, I really didn't mean to go overboard. I am my son's advocate. I am just about "people first" and educating when I can. I use to use the "r" word, prior to my son being born. I no longer do. I was taught and told that those with cognitive delays find that word very hurtful. I hope your grandson is doing well. He is a handsome little guy.
