I really dont know what to do i am working on getting help but its gonna take awhile. My son is 5 and high functioning autistic. He has a issue about the bathroom he is terrified of having a accident and worry's hes not clean after he goes. he goes to the bathroom over and over again even if nothing comes out and he wipes till the toilet paper is gone sometimes. he has clogged my toilet. I was already struggling with this behavior it is making everything difficult i have to bring him home when we are out cause he will cry if he doesn't have assess to a bathroom. he stays up late cause he gets up to go every 10 mins or so. and so on. then two nights ago he had an accident he pooped in bed and wet the bed it was a total random accident not something that normally happens but it has completely thrown his behaviors into over drive he stays on the potty for an hour at a time and i completely don't know what to do! if anyone can offer advice i would really love to hear it. thanks :)

" i said im working on getting help what i meant was im getting us into a behaviorist or a child therapist. he will be evaluated to see what they feel will be of the most help then hell get placed with someone but its a process. we have had behaviorist before but he aged out of the program we were in and he wasn't needing any additional support outside of the school system until now. " Let me start off first with I'm am very truly sorry to hear about what you and your son are going throuh!! It most definately is a proccess, and a long one at that! My son started showing symptoms by 4 but I didn't want to recognize or believe any of them until he was between 5-6. He has the OCD symptoms as well. He got them from me lol But his are wow compared to me at times. He also has had and still struggles with a bit of bathroom issues. He just within the last year actually started wiping his own butt because he was afraid that he would get poop on his hands or his butt wouldn't be clean. It really was something. He would rather sit on the toilet and cry than wipe his own butt. He would get enraged and scream n throw things if noone would do it for him. Finally we decided to try flushable wipies and after a while of working with that and putting a full sized mirror in our bathroom where he can turn and look to see if he's clean or not he's got things under control on his own. But it all takes some time and is def a proccess!! He even has to take wipies to school or he can't function right. He actually had an accidetn in his pants at school last year because he had no wipies there and he was afraid he wouldnt get clean so he held it in, or tried rather. He still occassionally comes out to the living room after wiping with his pants down around his ankles asking us to check to make sure he's clean. If there would be someone here that didn't know us they might think there was something wrong with us lol Sry, I do laugh it off a lot, what else can we do?! Anyways, Daniel (my 7 1/2 yr old son) has been seeing a thereapist and a med control therapist for the past year and they just recently put him on zoloft for the OCD. They say it works for a lot of young children with those symptoms and that it is one of the safer ones. I have always been afraid of meds and was one of those people that said they didn't it because I was worried of what it would do to him. But to tell you the truth, in all honesty...I think it might be the best thing we had done for him and anyone can do for their child if they are seriously having problems!! Our son actually cried n told us he liked his meds cause they make him be good and make friends and that he's not worried so much anymore. That made me feel great!!! Was what we all need!!! I hope that you find what works best for you all so you and your son can both feel some peace soon!!! May God be with you and grant you the strength to get through this hump. There will be many more, though we wish it wasn't so hard. Our children are special and they are going to give usna run for our money for the rest of their lives lol We just gotta take it one day at a time!!! Best of luck and lots of prayers and love...
